My family and I were in the area after a family day in doing plymouth tours that ended at the mayflower. A quick yelp search of some places nearby and we landed with Dillons Local. We didn't really expect much as it's your typical local sports bar setting but were pleasantly surprised with the food. My parents, mom in particular, is quite picky when it comes to american food but she enjoyed her burger as well a small bite of everyone else's food haha. my brother in law and i got the fish and chips which was amazing. Fiance got a burger as well and he enjoyed it. Sad got a pasta which he got with shrimp and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. over all was a good spot with some really good food!
Nice restaurant well located for access to the Plymouth tourist sites and parking was easily available. My wife had the eggs benedict, while I had the Irish breakfast. She was very happy with her choice and appreciated having the sauce on the side. The breakfast potatoes were great, crispy with no hint of grease. My breakfast highlight was the black and white pudding, which is difficult to get in US. Scrambled eggs were nice, soda bread helps fill any last gaps in the appetite. I would have preferred English/Irish bacon and the sausages were OK but not exactly like the bangers I prefer. Prices were reasonable ($35) and service was friendly and efficient. A nice brunch start for a chilly Sunday.
just had another great meal at the Dillon! the food was AMAZING! The staff was outstanding! Always have great food and service. with so many restaurants to choose from we always go back to the Dillon. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
4 1/2 stars actually. Nice locals place buy not unwelcoming at all. Busy at lunch of course. Really good Reuben and my wife loved her fish tacos. No offer of a refill on an ice tea that she walked by seeing it empty 4-5 times. I'm going to just drink water rather than paying for 4 ounces of tea over ice - sheesh
Yelp searched for local places open today and this place came up so we decided to try it out. So glad we did. By far the best kale soup I have ever had (and my Mother-in-Law was an amazing Portuguese cook). The onion soup was loaded with onions, cheese, and a beautiful bread. Fabulous!! Skip the pretzels they were meh.
Incredible food. Incredible service. From start to finish, our server provided attentive and humorous service and great recommendations. We tried the sweet potato fries which were crispy and well seasoned. Next, the pretzels and beer cheese which was creamy, rich and soft. The Buffalo chicken eggrolls held a punch of flavor and were stuffed full of filling. The fish and chips and fish tacos tasted fresh and portion was large. The highlight was the brisket grilled cheese. I highly recommend checking out this local dive bar for fantastic food.
We've been going to Dillon's Local since they opened over 5 years ago. Great staff, great food, great drinks.... Recently my wife took our granddaughter out for a "girls day". They shopped Plymouth Center and, when it came to lunch, my wife asked where should they go?. The immediate answer from our almost 13 year old... Dillon's Local. Needless to say, they enjoyed a wonderful lunch with great food and friendly staff taking good care of them. When the vast majority of reviews on Yelp are 4 and 5 stars...believe it. We love hearing first time visitors commenting about a particular meal they're enjoying. Give the place a try. You'll enjoy it!
You can see why locals love this place, although it's quite small so on a crowded night like tonight, there can be a bit of a wait for a table. As an out of towner, Dillon's offered exactly what we needed: a good meal at a good price. We had some chicken fingers and burgers for the kids, salads and the veggie risotto for the adults. Everything was delicious, although the risotto needed a bit more salt and seasoning to it. Service was excellent, ambiance was nice. We would return on our next trip to Plymouth.
I cannot believe I just tried this place for the first time yesterday! From the second we walked in until the moment we left, our experience here was terrific. It's rare that I don't have any critiques for a place, but Dillon's did not disappoint me in any way! Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable, the service was fast, and any modifications to drinks and food were exactly as requested. The menu selections were unique, and I highly recommend the shepherd's pie croquettes to start. We got the Guinness Fish & Chips + the Cajun Chicken Pasta for the main course, and both were absolutely delicious. Last but certainly not least - the cost of the meal was more affordable than a lot of other local venues. With 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 3 mixed drink, and 1 glass of wine - it was only a bit over $100-ish and we felt that was very fair price wise. We will 100% be coming back here! :)
